Yoga training was also given to the final year students of this Department.

Vision

To see the Platonic conception of The Philosopher King a major effort is made with the line of philosophical seriousness. This concept encompasses in-itself everything and is self-explanatory. Also, to see that each and every student of this Department, of this college thrives hard to achieve this end, thereby abiding by the Constitutional Law of this Nation.

Mission

Training the students rigorously in logical reasoning and thereby developing their faculty of critical thinking. Nurturing the three aspects of a human being - knowing, willing and feeling aspects - so as to mould them into well integrated human beings. Give them enough exposure to the thoughts of the philosophers (Indian as well as Western) along with the factors (historical, social, cultural, economic, political, etc.) that shape their thoughts and the impact of their thoughts on the society. Train them to approach the matters related to anything, by applying the skills they have acquired, with what was inculcated in them, and by comparing with what different thinkers have got to say on those things. Catering to all the above mentioned, considering the students without any disparity, being rooted strongly in the culture, values and law of this land becomes the abiding concern of the department.
